　　物質文明和精神文明相協(xié)調是社會主義的基本要求。

　　社會主義是共產主義的初級階段，社會主義社會是全面發(fā)展的社會，社會主義社會不但要建設物質文明，而且也要建設精神文明，只有兩個文明都搞好了，才是真正的社會主義。

　　Socialism is the primary stage of communism, and a socialist society is one that is developed in all respects. A true socialist society must achieve material and cultural-ethical advancement.

　　在社會主義階段，只有逐步建成高度的物質文明，同時又逐步建成高度的精神文明，才能為向共產主義社會過渡創(chuàng)造充分的條件。

　　In the stage of socialism, only the gradual development of a high degree of material advancement and the concurrent development of a high degree of cultural-ethical advancement will create sufficient conditions for the transition to communism.

　　物質文明和精神文明相協(xié)調是人類社會發(fā)展的必然趨勢和前進方向。

　　Material and cultural-ethical advancement: an inevitable trend and the way forward for the development of human society

　　人類自產生以來，就已經不是被動地適應自然環(huán)境，而是主動地改造自然環(huán)境，使自然環(huán)境不斷地適應人。

　　Since the dawn of humanity, humans have not passively adapted to the natural environment but actively sought to transform it, constantly adapting it to our needs.

　　人類在改造客觀世界的同時，也在改造著自己的主觀世界。同時人不僅有物質需要，也有精神需要。

　　When human beings transform the objective world, they also transform their subjective world. Moreover, people have not just material needs but also cultural-ethical ones.

　　物質文明和精神文明相互制約、相互促進，相輔相成、共同發(fā)展。

　　Material and cultural-ethical advancement are mutually constraining and promotional, and they complement and develop each other.

　　物質文明和精神文明相協(xié)調是對中華文明的傳承弘揚和對實踐的探索及經驗的總結。

　　中華民族是一個勤勞勇敢善良的民族，在創(chuàng)造了豐厚的物質文明的同時，也創(chuàng)造了豐富的精神文明。

　　Chinese people are diligent, brave, and kindhearted. In the course of producing abundant material advancement, we have also produced abundant cultural-ethical advancement.

　　幾千年來中華民族偉大的民族精神薪火相傳、生生不息，成為中國人民的血脈和靈魂。

　　A great national spirit has been passed down from generation to generation for several millennia in China, becoming deeply infused in the blood and soul of the Chinese people.

　　中國共產黨傳承中華民族優(yōu)秀傳統(tǒng)文化，推動其創(chuàng)造性轉化、創(chuàng)新性發(fā)展，堅持馬克思主義在意識形態(tài)領域的指導地位，不斷推進中華民族現(xiàn)代文明建設。
